I’m certain there must be a few flies in the ointment, however I believe I am blessed. I have met many, many Southerners, and have borne witness to cordiality, hospitality, honest Christian folk. Though the weather down there can be too hot for my liking, if I had a choice between retiring here in middle of Saskatchewan or the South, my choices would be Tennessee, Oklahoma or South Dakota.
And despite what everyone says, you never hear of someone moving up north when they retire.

Moved from the People’s Soviet of WA State to North Carolina a few months ago and could not be happier. Western part of the state – several large cities to choose from but they are all about a two-hour drive away. Just far enough.
Wonderful people, good food. Feels like home.
