My tanks many times over for the pictures, DMM – they are a treasure !
I’m glad people had the foresight to preserve and keep them.
Best of my recollect, two covered bridges still exist in Franklin County, Virginia.
All still standing because a JB Hunt or Swift driver hasn’t found them yet.
I think Long Grove, IL holds the record for most strikes by “too tall” vehicle

Neat! I visited a couple covered bridges in south-central Oregon. Such craftsmanship should be preserved.
Beautiful pics…. Baltimore has one covered by water.. does that count?
Less than six miles from my home:

“The Bridgeport Covered Bridge has the longest clear single span of any surviving wooden covered bridge in the world.”
I got married on a covered bridge in Port Royal, TN, on 6/24/95. Several years later, a flood carried away the bridge. Marriage went about the same way.
Ohio has more than any other state. The county where I was County Engineer had 4 of them. Only 1 is still carrying traffic, alas.
Coming into Northfield Falls, Vermont from Moretown on Cox Brook Road there are still 3 covered bridges in less than half a mile.
One just a mile or so from the Eisenhower Farm outside Gettysburg. Really nice one.
Thanks for these!
Watson settlement bridge burned a couple years ago. Has been removed.
Live about 10 miles from where it stood.
No one has been caught, no one. Another part of history gone.
