Next Chevy post, I will have two at least to bedazzle you…
Carpooled with a friend and two other guys in the friend’s ’60 Corvair 4-door 60hp. There were some hills the thing would barely climb on I-285 South of Atlanta. Then he bought a ’64, I think, after they’d restyled.
Cederq, are you going to post some pics of Dodge Power Wagons and Weapon Carriers?
I can. I have a site that has a lot of Dodges and Power wagons and some military style Dodges. I will put together one for you soon.
Johno, just picked a whole mess of PW pics, both civilian and military, I will be putting up a Power wagon post Saturday or Sunday.
Okay Cederq, thanks for the heads up. Now, can you tell the suits at Chrysler, so they can see what a real work vehicle looks like?
I took a 1970 427 SS El Camino on a test drive in 1983 from a dealer in Custer SD 1983. I think I was the only guy they let take it out alone. I drove it 3-4 miles west of Custer om 4 lane road pretty gentle. Then I pulled onto the right shoulder. I had had a couple fast cars before. I checked for traffic both ways then whipped a shitty to head back into town. Convinced I had to have this car. Mashed the throttle as soon as it straightened out and mashed the throttle, Smole rolling off the rear tires. As soon as I straightened out I grabbed second gear and launched the front tires into the sky. I need this car. I tried but was unable to buy it. I should have tried harder. By the time I got my financial house in order, it was gone. Fer shame. Beautiful car.
You just HAD to throw in the Corvair, din’cha?
I ordered a CORVETTE!
