I’ve had a number of these chev’s and only wish I would have kept them all.
I’ll take one of each please.
I had a British Green rag top 68 goat, but it just cost to much to run. It was WELL worn when I got in it 71 @ 17. That 57 ELCamino was a bea~utiful ride UNTIL THEY CHOPPED IT, IMO it sucks now. Leave like they came out, AT THE LEAST!
IMO.
AMEN, Will – cutting up a Nomad like that should be grounds for flogging, then being drawn and quartered! Sheer Blasphemy!
Ahhh, love Classic Chev’ys…
Have a 51 5 window that’s been restored, not customized. Solid Red….
Anyway to get it’s picture in the lot?
I still have a running ’91 S-10 Blazer that is our back up rig, and we very much appreciate that luxury when one of our daily rigs is down for whatever reason. I swore I’d never buy a Gummint Motors rig, but we had that thing paid off long before that bailout happened. It looks like crap, AC is dead, but otherwise is mechanically sound. I’ve promised myself that it gets no more major work done though; whatever fails next is when I get rid of it.
You may change your mind when you see the price of USED cars. Hold on to it as long as you can!
Same here cept 91 S10 truck. 1st and last new ride I ever bought, have had it 32 years now. Mechanically sound but body has rust. I keep dreaming about restoring it. I paid $8,888.88 for it in Oct 1990. The very rare Robins egg blue.
Friend back around “71 had a Corvair, like the one pictured, with a 327 Chevy in the back seat. There was a kit out at the time that mated it to a corvair 4 speed and had a fiberglass cover for the engine. He tried for a long time to get it cooled down with a radiator mounted in the trunk and could never get all the air bled out of the cooling lines. It was quick when it ran.
back in the day, knew a guy who owned a Yenko stinger corvair. a really fast car !
he used to make money racing vette guys with it.
wonder what he did with it? and we used to bitch about the price of gas back then too.
could have bought a vette like the one above back in high school for 1200 bucks
running with a spare engine and 2 extra tops. blaze orange.
dad wouldn’t let me get it unless I got insurance at the same time.
damn insurance cost more per year than the car did !
thing had 2 4barrel hollys on it and I swear the gas line was at least a 1/2 inch.
it was quick, but didn’t handle all that well.
if I was smart, I would have bought it and stored in somewhere.
I can’t believe what they going for now a days.
Funny, all of today’s featured vehicles appear to be some shade of red.
FF, while looking over my Chevy and other GM products library I noticed I had an abundance of red tinted cars, so I figure why not? You are the first to notice and say something. I will be doing one in blues eventually, I have a bunch of blue colored GMs.
I would pay two hundred bucks for a two hour ride in that Buick racer.
I would take that two hundred smackers and give you the ride of your life…
I kind of like that bubble-top Impala.

What? From an avowed Ford guy? I now have lived and heard everything there is to hear!
‘Twas a moment of weakness, Cederq – won’t happen again for a while….
