All the kind words and statements, I just remember the high inflation and interest rates. I remember older people mentioning mortgage rates of 11 and 12 percent. And the utes of today think they got it bad
How would that help? All the shite is on the inside of the boot!
Mom and dad bought a small hobby farm in ’76. Thankfully, the interest rate didn’t change, but mom went to work full time. I remember the Carter years. Lots of farmer friends didn’t recover from the high interest rates. Farm auctions were common in the early 80’s. I remember very thin times until a year or two after he left.
Do you remember his photo op getting up early to work, only to flop on the couch and sleep in the oval orifice? Or the rabid swimming attack rabbit? He was in way over his head.

They were as high as 17 and 18%. Hell, in the mid 80s my wife and I were paying 10.5% on our first house…and we survived…

And the Iranian raid fiasco, sand, dumbasses, don’t react to well with helicopter turbo engines.
