  1. Got any photos from nudist camps? 🙂

I have nothing against drinking or swearing, but there’s something to be said for being considerate, and drinking often leads to loud and uncouth behavior, which typically involves swearing too.

Call me a killjoy, if you want. When I used to go camping, part of my expectation was to get away from the city area, out into the peace and quiet of the wilds. Having that spoiled by the people on the other side of the logging road blasting it from their boom box was something that really annoyed me. That’s why I don’t care for the notion of parking a motor home jeek-by-jowl in an RV park, or pitching a tent in an organized campground.

    YMMV, of course.

  2. The calgary one is still there, the trees are talker now and the highway is still right beside it, just twinned now.

Thats an hour from my place, if you ever come back i’ll buy you a coffee.

  3. A first-time skydiver jumped out of the plane and pulled the cord. Nothing happened. The chute didn’t open. He pulled the emergency cord and again, nothing happened. As he continued to fall he saw another guy shooting straight up at him. As the skydiver passed him he said “Do yo know anything about parachutes???” The other guy replied “No. Do you know anything about Coleman lanterns???”

…At last count I had two “white gas” stoves and eleven of those old “white gas” lanterns, including a military-issue one, still in the box, from 1959!!! …Newer is not always better…

  4. Is #8 the 6 x 6 a Kamaz (Russian) Chassis? the Vanbody is not the one the Red Army has for a Radio Van, but the Truck looks Similar. I don’t have the Link, but have seen a Vid of a BMY 900-Series 5-Ton 6 x 6 with the Expandable Radio/ Shopvan Body converted to a Camper.

And those Coleman Stoves/Lanterns? “White Gas” or Coleman Fuel is more like Naptha than Automotive Gasoline… which is Way More Volatile, and will cause Explosions.

  5. #3 – I still have a set of these downstairs. MIL surplus, circa 1950’s

#8 – I saw that Motorcycle setup on a Motor Home as big as MY rig, had a Harley Hog on it. Nice!

  6. That (enameled?) camp oven, what would it use for fuel? I’m assuming LPG from a tank not in the pic. That image looks like it’s from the ‘50s or ‘60s, before consumer tools/items became cheap garbage.
