never heard of this myself before. had to look it up.
still like to get my hands on one of those Lister diesel engines myself. they used to be imported from India
but the assholes in the EPA shut that down.
knew a guy down in FLA that had one he installed in his garage. 275 fuel tank, stainless steel piping to the outside.
and a simple 10-12kw generator head.
I forget what storm hit his area, Ivan or something. anyway
he was the Hero to the neighborhood. plenty of ice, hot water for showers (bring your own towels/soap)
and his washer and dryer ran non stop.
he gained a whole lot of friends after that week.
I have seen it run, they are a quiet, slow running diesel.
I think he told me they even set up a TV set with a VCR
for the kids to watch. AC was on and off. on at night time
and off during the day to run the washer and water heater
still, it was doable. the whole time I was there, everyone that went by stopped in to say hi to him, ask how things where. did he need anything.
people like the things of modern life.
I wonder how much coffee he went thru that week ?
I know after a bad night, I would give a lot for a good cup of coffee in the am.

        • BTW, the guy in the photo is way too small to be BCE
I seen his picture on his site. he is at least 6’4″ or so

          • what, about the hot blub engine or the lister diesel ?
I don’t anything about the hot blub thing, but the lister I did look up after seeing the one down in FLA. and I want one.
hell, I put the engine and generator in a shed
built for it. copper wire to run it into the house
            wouldn’t cost that much.

  1. We’ll have no truck with them new-fangled meeechanical thangs. Mules was fine fer Granddaddy, an’ they’re fine for us.
