  1. I don’t care if anyone knows where my car is at any time – who’s to say I’m driving it? Cell phones are a different matter though. They probably DO have a database that shows the movements of all cell phones. It would be hard to convince a jury you lent your phone to someone.

    • No. These cameras don’t use a flash like red light cameras. Use an infrared blocking plate cover. These have a slight tint but can still be seen through so cops can’t claim the plate is obscured.

  2. I used to work for Rockwell Collins for the satellite install team. If we did not have any installs or upgrades the tech’s would get loaned to other departments. I was once the delivery boy of the newly developed card readers that could read license plates and connect to a remote database to check on any wants/warrants and other new wiz-bang items for cop cars. It had a touch screen camera where you touched the car on the screen where it was radared or lasered and photo’d. If a tag was visible it was automatically run. It was a California State Patrol car that had the lights integrated in the glass and bumpers. I had some fun with that car.
