I did the same thing taking magnetic door signs off my 89 Chevy Silverado. Right down to the primer.
Yep those whites and blues in older model chevy’s were worthless
and I saw yesterday chevy trucks still top the list for stolen vehicles.
Second one reminds me, I was re-doing the front access panels of the Beaver, when I had first done them I did an absolutely crappy job on surface prep 3 years earlier. Ended up using TAPE to pull off the old-new brown paint stripes… serves me right for being lazy with the prep the first time!
220 grit, then 400, then tack cloth then paint. Don’t cut corners!
