I worked at a big box hardware store after I retired. Lots of people came in, didn’t know how to do diddly. Many employees wouldn’t say what they know, afraid of getting sued. People come to the stores for expert help and couldn’t get it. I could and would give it, but the management had issues and I left. Talk about sucking all the fun out of working in a toy store.

I’m a mechanic’s son. When I was a boy, the men at the counter at the parts stores knew how to do what you were working on, & could even give you tips & tricks. Now, I have to explain shit to the dipshit behind the counter. Sometimes I have to come behind the counter so I can show him what I need on his computer.
