  1. .22 shorts do a fine job of taking out drones and are hard to hear and generally are not heard by those gunshot monitors around the bigger cities and suburbs…

          • ‘zactly. Have a Taurus Judge with a variety of .410 loads. Federal even makes a special load of four 000 buck pellets, and they pack a wallop.
I’ll have to try some #6 and #9 loads for distance. I don’t think #12 snake shot will carry far enough.
Still want to find some hard cast .45 Colt to carry in the woods for bear.

      • I put this here up top:

Nowadays as you drive thru intersections analyze places for 22 hydes for traffy kams and pholck kams. (lycense playte reeders)

    • How do you kill a pesky fly? With an elephant gun!

12 gauge, #4 or #5 High Power bird shot, just to be sure. If you’re going to choot’em, shred’em.

  2. Ya, those drones are there for your protection…. Safe and effective.— just like the Jab.—.ken

  3. “they run surveillance on the property for your protection”

That is the most arrogant use of words any of us have seen in some time, but not the least of controlling. I do not need anyone to protect me.

    BFYTW

    • Yep.
They need to get used to the idea that if their drone flies over my property it belongs to me.

  4. I’d buy a miniature crossbow (you can use them for fishing!) and a dum-dum set of “arrows” and grab me some drones!

    It would be fun!

You could also use a paintball gun and use the squishy balls to bring ’em down.

Lots and lots of ways to “hunt” drones without a firearm.

    • Paint ball guns can fire bath oil beads as they are the same size 68cal.the bath beads are flexible so they dont shatter on impact and transfer more energy to the target. If you shoot a person they really hurt. A friend tried it in the 90’s and shot another friend during a game thinking they would coat him in oil…. The 1st shot bruised a rib and the second cracked the cup he was wearing.

  5. And that’s not all: the Supreme Court already decided that if a drone is over your property, you can play with it all you want and sell the debris for scrap if you choose. Not so sure about a drone with a warrant, but cops don’t know how to deliver those by drone, so…..

  6. I kind of like those 60 grain sub sonics myself. very quiet out of a old 26 inch barrel Winchester single shot. they did a real number on the local racoons around here.
they are a lot smaller than the ones I used to see back in philly.
here a fun fact, most of the traffic cams you see as you drive around are FEDERAL
not local ones. just like a lot of police dept. got plate readers from the feds too.
and always remember this one fact. the cops obey whoever signs their paycheck
and that is not you. why else did the 3 letter clowns need to build so many new fusion centers all around the country ?

  7. Absolutely an invasion of privacy. I say bringing legal action against the offender for deprivation of civil rights under color of authority would be a winner.

FAA says airspace above private property up to around 400′ agl is to the property.
    SCOTUS agrees in several decisions.
Actually, all three branches of fedgov are unanimous on that. This has been tesed several times and with no change.

Notice the PD is asking. They ask because they have no legal jurisdiction.

  8. I don’t think they understand….if the drone is low enough to be threatened by thrown beer bottles it’s too low. It’s violating privacy. Generally, FAA rules require a minimum altitude for anything flown over private property. Those rules apply to the cops just like everyone else.

  9. Solution for drones: Trained hunting falcon.

No warrant, no legal right for the drone to be there. To bad the fancy microwave guns the military has for downing drones are so expensive. Unfortunately those of us who live inside a city could be charged with discharging a firearm with the city limits if we use a .22 or other gun on it. I wonder how well a tennis ball cannon would do an what the range would be? There are also the net launchers for downing drones.

    • Believe me, the mini-crossbow is a fairly flat trajectory, it shoots at about 200-300 feet/sec if you get the high-powered ones. The dum-dum arrows don’t slow it down much, either.

  10. A local guy with a Very Nice and Well-Kept Farm always had people stopping along the Road and taking Pictures. Then the Drones came, and idiots thought it was “Not Trespassing” to go right over the Place, all the way round the Big House and Gardens. He Shotgunned one, and the ‘tards actually were so Stupid as to climb over the Driveway Gate and walk up the Hill looking for it; one of his Crewmen saw the Trespassers, went out to ask them WTF. He didn’t know about the Drone at that point, and called the Owner, who already had the Sheriff on the way. Easy Convictions for Trespass.

I’ve always been Worried about someone thinking it would be fun to Chase Horses or Cows around the Yard; that would be a good way to get ‘Disappeared’ in this area.
