By that logic the economies of Russia and China could be called “state capitalism”.
By all appearances, the good ‘ol USA has a “state capitalism” What, with all the insider trading with our esteemed, truthful, ethical servants that toil under the midnight oil telling companies and markets what they can build, what can be sold, and order us compliant sheep to buy a commodity (insurance), embellish us with so many taxes, fees, penalties, contrived inflation as to how can a person not ponder we are not in a state controlled economy
Good point. There is a difference between state control and state ownership.
If you couple state ownership with an authoritarian government you get communism.
If you couple state control with an authoritarian government you get fascism.
Russia and China appear to be moving from communism to fascism, allowing more private ownership while maintaining control.
Big Box Stores, Big Box Manufactures, Big Box Commodities are quite happy with the arraignment. They and big and little governments hate pure competition.
The reason why they are not flocking to Venezuela is that Venezuela is out of Other People’s Money to give away, as what happened with every other socialist state in history.
