  1. A good friend of mine isn’t happy unless he’s PO’d at someone or something and I’m usually the one who has to sit through a recitation of his PO’d’ness more than once so he can relive it.

    • I am becoming that way Judy. Almost a schizoid personality disorder… But, I like Albert Einstein’s description of being a loner, “Be a loner. That gives you time to wonder, to search for the truth. Have holy curiosity. Make your life worth living.” With the rampart inconsideration and narcissistic society we live in I just as soon wrap myself in an autonomous existence. Isolophilia is a salve.

      I believe we are, solivagant?
Solivagant [soh-LIH-va-ghent] (adjective): To wander alone. Solivagant comes from the Latin words “solus” meaning alone, and “vagans” meaning “wander.”

      • There’s a reason Thoreau went to live in the woods for a couple years. Visited Walden Pond more than 50 years ago in my yout. Didn’t see the magic in the place. ‘Course that was more than a hundred years after the stay and the book.

      • The deal is I have always been a loner. Even when I was a kid. My parents socialized me enough that I can participate in group activities, but it is not my first choice, and it takes a lot of emotional energy to do it for long periods of time. I took a lot of crap assignments while working, which meant management would leave me alone, as no one else wanted to do the job. Glad I’m retired!
