A good friend of mine isn’t happy unless he’s PO’d at someone or something and I’m usually the one who has to sit through a recitation of his PO’d’ness more than once so he can relive it.
I am becoming that way Judy. Almost a schizoid personality disorder… But, I like Albert Einstein’s description of being a loner, “Be a loner. That gives you time to wonder, to search for the truth. Have holy curiosity. Make your life worth living.” With the rampart inconsideration and narcissistic society we live in I just as soon wrap myself in an autonomous existence. Isolophilia is a salve.
I believe we are, solivagant?
Solivagant [soh-LIH-va-ghent] (adjective): To wander alone. Solivagant comes from the Latin words “solus” meaning alone, and “vagans” meaning “wander.”
There’s a reason Thoreau went to live in the woods for a couple years. Visited Walden Pond more than 50 years ago in my yout. Didn’t see the magic in the place. ‘Course that was more than a hundred years after the stay and the book.
The deal is I have always been a loner. Even when I was a kid. My parents socialized me enough that I can participate in group activities, but it is not my first choice, and it takes a lot of emotional energy to do it for long periods of time. I took a lot of crap assignments while working, which meant management would leave me alone, as no one else wanted to do the job. Glad I’m retired!
I have a number of people already on my Pre-Annoyed List.
My wife to a TEE. She does not suffer fools easily.

I’ll admit…that one made me laugh hard.
I’d LOVE to see that line in the next Star Trek reboot.
LMAO Now you know why I’m a recluse.

And it’s “Nomad”, and I obey the Nomad rule.
I know when someone is about to annoy me…it happens when I wake up every morning.
Now you got me busting a gut
