While I do believe that until you’ve been on fire (I have, three times) you cannot judge people’s reactions when they get flames on their clothes or hair, I do often wonder why about 75% of those folks run.
But then again, I don’t panic easily, so there’s that….

a long time ago, my dad warned me about the stupid. had no idea what he was talking about. many years later I learned. people will do the most stupid things
some times. as he used to say,” watch out for the stupid”
and damn, there sure is a lot of it out there too.
just one more reason to live/hide out in the woods.
A long time ago (I am 72) if you did something stupid you did not get clicks on Youtube so you never had a reason to do MORE stupid stuff.
This. Some folks will do anything for attention, and the internet has made it SO easy to get “validation”.
