  1. WORD.

The only thing worse was having it taken out. They leave a tube the size of a garden hose in you. You will not pee standing up. You will not believe how badly a rifle can shoot when the crown gets buggered up. And as the platinum topper, they have a 12 inch piece of straight stainless tubing they use to get the garden hose out.

    Good luck.

Ps, none, let me repeat, NONE of that was covered under informed consent.

  2. this one thing, I wished I never knew. done that, hated it, wished I was dead.
pain is unreal. and he not kidding about the garden hose either, they have some tool that works like a pipe expander for your dick. one word of advise. HAVE THEM KNOCK YOUR ASS OUT FIRST. I had all sorts of broken bones and cuts, lots of stiches over the years, but without any doubt, plumbing problems where the worse thing I ever went into a hospital for. don’t even think about going to the VA for this either. find a good doc and talk with him. makes a world of difference !
I would rather be shot than go thru that shit with the VA again.
it is more painful than you can think about and not much you can do to stop the pain either. just another sign that god hates my ass.
and when the shit hits the fan, you are going to wish you where dead .

    • I had mine done through the VA. Yes it’s
very painful. Knocked out for sticking the camera/laser/retrieval “basket” up the urethera to disintegrate and retrieve the pieces of the 7 mm size stone. Then three weeks of pissing the “sand” out, like every ten or fifteen minutes, it seemed, through the tube with a bend in the end of it, and your piss looks like cherry Kool aid.

Then a trip back to the doc to get it removed. They don’t knock you out for that. Lay on the table on your back with a couple of nurses looking at your junk, the doc comes in, switches on the TV, grabs the end of your dick and inserts the “grabber” , very uncomfortable, searches around for the end of the tube, finds it, then tells you…”See that bar above your head? You might want to grab that with both hands and hold on.” Then he grabs the grabber thing with both hands, braces one foot against the side of the table and yanks the tube out.

I had a three hour drive back home after that experience. Thankfully, I was all pissed out.

  3. I know I’m tempting fate here, my three brothers all had kidney stones 2 more than once as did my Dad. My middle brother had one last year, his third. He described the procedure to me after he was done. I pray I never have one. I guess the modern method is better than the old proxcedure where they cut you open to get the stone out, but not much pain wise.

    • Start your preventative procedures now. Increase water, decrease soda. Search the internet for other methods to prevent stones. I’m a survivor of 2 stones.

  4. At last count, 22 of ’em – after the first five, I recognized what was happening BEFORE they got really big, and they didn’t require lithotripsy (the sonic treatment that can bust ’em up). Four years ago I had a CAT scan that showed I had an 11 cm stone in my left kidney, and a 5 cm stone in my right. If those mothers HAD broken loose or even calved they would’ve carved me open to get to them . I avoided that by taking Cranberry supplements from that point on, and now they are gone!

Dodged a major bullet on THAT one for sure! It hurts just reading about everybody’s fun and exciting experiences with removal… OUCH.

    • They use Lithotripsy when the stones are still in your kidney. On stones like mine, that make it to your bladder, they do an Urethoscopy where they stick the scope/laser, ect., up the end of your junk.

    • my doc swore by lemon aide . homemade stuff. you can use lemon juice and water to mix. like 1 cup of lemon juice to 7 cups of water, add UNDER 1 cup of sugar to it and mix. that has cut stones to almost nothing so far. seems like the less sugar the better for you.
I use like 3/4 cup myself as I am not a big fan of bitter taste.
hopes this helps someone out there.
btw, my doc is old as hell and about to retire too, he 74 last year.
he says he tried 2 times before and got asked to come back.
now he just wants to go fishing in the sun. I say he earned that right.

      • Yep, lemon juice definitely helps dissolve certain types of kidney stones.

The first time I had kidney stones way back, the doc gave some pain killers and told me to go home and drink a six pack of beer.
