Kinda cool, but I much prefer the modern ones, they can get in tighter places.
Work area was way too clean and organized. Also didn’t notice any parts left over, something is wrong with that
Yes, and he takes care of his hands too. No blood sacrifice made, so it wasn’t our Phil. Also no cursing or swearing, how weird!
There’s a lot of amazing stuff from the old days. Some of it seems pretty dumb to us today, but somebody solved a problem.
Funny restoration, in parts. Most people just reach right into that Evapo-Rust. I don’t think I’d go with copper plating either. And he didn’t oil the blued parts.
This wrench might be the one that originated the term “Knuckle Buster”.
What exactly is that rust remover elixir ?
Evapo-rust.It has been hard to find but Hd use to carry it. Phosporhic acid, I think is main ingredient.
$11 a quart, just ordered one, good to have around.
Because it has to be placed ‘on top’ or across the Face of a Fastener, I’m betting it was used on the Square Nuts that were common in Wood Construction, like Carriages, Railcars, and early Automobiles.
Don’t laugh at the Older Tools – like Mr. Mayo’s comment above, “somebody solved a Problem. Ever seen those ‘Crescent’ style Wrenches with the S-Curved Handle? (B&O is one Brand) I have 6, ranging from 5 inches long to 20 inches. The smaller ones have a lot of uses on Jet Engines, where Fuel, Oil, and Air Lines are hard to get at. The Big One? Used as a Holding Clamp on Landing-Gear Linkages in an L-1011 Transport when tightening Nuts.
The video I’m seeing has nothing to do with wrenches. Did the URL get swapped?
And now, several hours later, I’m seeing the original video.
