Fuck bailing hay.
And the pay that goes with it.

Amen, Brother.
Or the heatstroke.
Or falling off the hay wagon 6 bales up when it hit a rut.
But when we weren’t bailing hay, life was soooo much simpler and understandable.
Tried it one summer, it was WORK. And it kicked up my asthma again, which had been dormant the previous year.
Ya know, it was quieter around here when your Starlink was broken…
When I was a kid, boys were required to wear slacks and buttoned shirts to school. Except farm boys. Farm boys could wear jeans and T shirts, because they had to do chores.
Painful lesson #1: do not ask farm boys “what’s chores?”
Painful lesson #2: do not tell your dad why you got beat up at school again, after lesson #1. Now you have chores.
