  1. yeah. have a sister like that. he “hubby ‘ bought her junkers to drive. fun.
and every year when she came down for turkey day or whatever. my brother and I ended up working on said junk. lot of fun in cold weather. laying on the street
or bent over the damn thing. anyway, after 4-5 years of that shit. she needed a another car/ride. and was looking at ANOTHER POJ to buy.
told Mom if she wanted to help her (she did all the time. BIL was a real asshole)
I put 5 grand toward a new Corella and Mom matched me.
sister came up with some money (?) and the bank did the rest. BIL hated it.
he was 6’4” and didn’t fit in it. (smiles) but on the plus side, I didn’t have to work on her junk cars anymore in the cold. it was worth it. and I got to piss off the BIL too !!

      • Look on the bright side. They’ll be a hell of a lot easier to work on than a modern car. My Subaru Impreza still has the grease on the outside of the engine that was needed to slide it into the engine bay.

I think that the Subaru dealers must use well trained octopus’ to get to the various bits of the engine.

  2. I noticed a collection of old cars like this while crossing the Montana/Idaho state border on my motorcycle back in 2016. I am far from a car buff, but last year while being in the area I had to stop there to look around. GPS coordinates for Google maps: 48.09027730666849, -116.08352171797608 It’s about 1.6 miles west of the border.
