  1. Could have easily been Cox or AT&T.

After years of poor service and slow “high speed” innernet from AT&T, we got selected for Starlink beta. It arrived while I was out of town and my wife, who barely understands which end to pick up a screwdriver with, despite her father being a mechanical genius, had it out of the box and up and running in about 15 minutes. She basically tossed the dish out in the back yard, plugged everything in and BOOM! 150 Mbps right away. May not sound like much to some folks but we were lucky to get 2.5 from AT&T and Starlink has only gotten faster over time. 5-stars, do like, do recommend.

    • Yeah, I was one of the first in line when you had to shell out 500 Quatloos to get the dish, and setup was butt simple. Starting fee was $95 monthly!

Watch it, though, Starlink has been forced to put a “Congestion fee” on certain geographical areas because too many people are signing up due to the current birds in orbit not being able to handle all the customers in certain urban areas. However, if you live on the outskirts or in the boonies, it’s a godsend. Wait’ll Starship gets to unload 250 v3.0 birds at one launch!! Everybody wins. Well, the Customers win. Cable companies hate these guys.

If you have questions, let me know (Phil or CederQ can give you my e-mail or phone number) and I can answer ’em. No worries!

Note, Slo Joe and his weasels specifically left out Starlink when they started that effort to bring Hi-Speed Internet to the masses in flyover country… Wasted a BUNCH of tax money, never did get people connected…

      • I got fiber optic internet about 6 months ago and am having no problems BUT I’ve been wondering about the price difference. If you don’t mind putting it out there, what is the monthly cost of Starlink?

  2. So when you wake the fuck up and ditch regular TV, call the cable company and tell them you’ll pay the bill sometime between January and December.

    • And tell ’em you’ll be home between 5 PM and 6PM on alternate weeks to come and pick up the payment.
      HEH.

  3. My son and his girlfriend, who both work from home as IT Engineers for a government IT dept. use star link at their new home. They are both also avid gamers and report no detectable latency when playing first person shooter game Counter Strike in team mode.
