I am forever putting things down after having them in my hand, then looking for that item in five minutes with no idea where on God’s green earth it is.
The latest was yesterday. I took the cap off of a new bottle of vitamins, put the bottle down uncapped on the kitchen counter then spaced it for some reason. Five or so minutes later, I’m looking for the bottle cap. Couldn’t find it for the life of me. Finally had to dig the old bottle out of the trash and use that cap on the new bottle.
I then went back to the desktop computer desk, low and behold there’s the bottle cap I had been looking for. No recollection of sitting at that desk during any of that time.
I think I’m destined for Alzheimers ward.
At least you weren’t holding the cap the whole time.
Yeah and how many have spent an hour looking for their glasses when they were on your head the whole time?
A friend and I were working on something small at the workbench. We sat something down then never could find it. Our feet never moved, it had to be within arms reach. We didnt drop it. Never did find it
You left off the second and almost as much time is reworking/reparing the project. Like I have said, jack of all trades, master of none.
I am working on my new reality TV show called design on the fly. It will include every trip to the hardware story to fill air time.
store, dammit Siri
LOL! I like your new reality show. Maybe can fill air time with, “and upon arriving at the hardware store, I couldn’t remember what I needed.”
Oooooh yeah. Why every five minute job takes at least an hour. And the extra trips to the hardware store for the tool or piece of junk that I KNOW I’ve got somewhere but can’t find.
Just yesterday I spent half an hour digging through drawers and boxes of junk looking for the three hole paper punch. It’s been sitting on a bookshelf in plain sight the whole time.
Forget about looking for the tool you put down somewhere obvious so you would be able to find it. I’m usually looking for the tool that I’m holding in my other hand, you know the one, the one that you use to lift the edges of stuff to look under…..
If you want to watch this type of activity with swearing, obvs. the best way to watch it, check out the out-takes at the end of the CEE videos on youtube.
