  1. Why not permanently not mess with time?
Seems like hubris, permanently changing time I mean.
    Next up, making pii=3.

    • Several years ago the New Zealand air force found that it’s candidate pilots could not quickly calculate terminal velocity. So in their wisdom the constant was rounded from 9.8 to 10. Stupid Kiwis.

  2. Arizona is not without faults. We have our own issues, yes. But by the grace of God, we never joined in on that stoopid train.

  3. Yep. Florida, the “Sunshine State” approved that years ago. I would rather be on one… or the other. Stop this switching back and forth nonsens.

I do recall one year skiing on Jay Peak in VT the year that Nixon had us on Daylight Saving Time all year (Energy “Crisis”). The Mountain closed down I think it was at 4:00 and the Canadians in attendance where PISSED… because as far as they were concerned, they were being ejected an hour early!

    • Yeah, I’m a Florida Man and I thought it was great when they were talking about getting rid of DST and staying on standard time. Then I found out that like everything else in the state, the Tourism Industry wanted something else – to keep us on DST all year long – and they won. Long ago, the feds decided if a state wanted to stay on standard time, like Arizona, they could but stay, but anything else required the Federal congress to approve it. That was seven freaking years ago! It could never get a hearing in congress.

  4. Under what twisted reading of the few powers given to the federal government does it have the authority to approve or disprove a state’s decision to abandon the Daylight Savings Time lie?

    • Because legislators are stupid. If they want to change to permanent DST (assholes) all they have to do is change it in a law that expires in 99 years.

  5. Why not piss everyone off and go on Newfie time? Ditch DST and permanently move the clocks 1/2 hour splitting the pain and the gain.

  6. F’n insanity. A jigsaw puzzle of time zones across the continent, nobody has a clue what time it is 2 states over.
This describes how gov’t works to a T.

  7. We have legislation enacted here in Wyoming, but I think it’s got a “trigger” clause in it, so we won’t be getting off dumbtime unless three congruous/surrounding states do the same.
