I stumbled across this over the weekend.
I was so impressed that I ordered two for work today. They aren’t cheap at about $65 each but if they work as advertised they will pay for themselves the first time you use them.
It saved this guy’s ass.
It will be at least a week before the ones I ordered at work show up.
That looks very interesting, thanks for posting it. I think I’ll order a couple.
I’ve got a set of left hand bits – hard to find but worth every penny – and they’ve saved me lots of times.
Why did the guy in the first video use a ball hex on a high-torque job?
Beat me to that point. They ALWAYS break when reefed on. If he had a real impact, that nut would have come off. Been doing it for years.
As for the “rescue bit”, I’ve been using carbide ball burrs in a die grinder. Saved many heads from broken exhaust studs. Besides, there have been tap removal drills available for quite some time now.

Also, a bit of heat and a quality lubricant can do wonders on stuck and/or broken But this special bit would be good to have.in the tool box.
Omega Drill, hard cut drills work the best for drilling out broken taps. Or a fucked up small carbide end mill ran at highspeed and just power thru that mother fucker!
