A prayer request, Igor and his wife and family and Phil and his family. Now Cathypop.

Sometimes bad medical incidents happen in threes, like most other accidents and happenings. We at this blog would ask our family here to give prayers and a heartfelt thoughts to Igor and his family, to Phil and his family and a commentator and his/her family to be named later. Life gets in the way of living. These families are looking at abrupt and changing lifestyles and economics in their lives.

Update: We have our third commentator to be named later, Cathypop, please extend the same prayers and thoughts for her recovery.

  1. Praying for these three families. May God’s healing and abundant blessings flood your lives.

  2. Thank you all, for kindness and concerns!

Sometimes, what some would think as a setback turns into a blessing. Or, blessings. I went in to Urgent Care for a severe facial swelling/cellulitis problem that popped up Thursday morning, and ended up having Denise hospitalized due to ischemic heart conditions. At first the staff were saying a quad bypass, but when I discussed this with the surgeon yesterday he said only two vessels needed to be bypassed! “Good” news, for values of “good”… She has had NO heart damage so far, this was an excellent time to discover this.

They crack her open at 05:00 tomorrow morning, so she gets awakened at 03:30 and prep begins. I’ll be over there at 08:00 with one of my daughters for the post-surgery discussion with the doc. He’s a darn good thoracic surgeon, and will be training two other surgeons at the same time – good fortune for all. Right?
(For those of you who missed the nuance, when a surgeon is doing a procedure, and expects no problems then they will invite the greenhorns to assist so they can get used to what is supposed to normally happen. It’s A Very Good Sign of what is going on.)

Again, thanks for your support, prayers, and concerns for us! What a group!!

    • G’day Igor, say get well to the missus for me, please. Ischaemia is a bugger of a thing, and quite scary during an episode. I used to feel that I was weak, being a sook, until my doctor made a comment one day. He said that it is a common physiological symptom to experience a feeling of impending doom, which explained what I was experiencing.
I hope that your wife recovers well and gets her strength back.

      • She’s one tough lady, she is. I married well.

Only 4 HOURS after she got out of surgery she transferred from the gurney bed to a very comfortable, reclining chair. All her vitals are good, I was there in ICU to watch her get off the breathing machine and go on her own. An interesting procedure, it’s probably what I went through but don’t remember ANYthing of it.

Doc said the procedure went good, stripping the two veins out of her arms was easy, and she will recover very well. After she’s up and about she will torture me with exercising at the YMCA out here in the valley.

Thanks to all for your support!

  3. As stated above.
The 2 known cases both sound as if they’re in good hands.
Praying they’re also in Gods hands.
    #3, you’re not forgotten either.

  4. Sending good thoughts and well wishes to all involved. Paraphrasing CederQ, life has a nasty habit of getting in the way of living.

    Nowhere to go but forward.

  5. 1. As Sandy says, and I really do wish people well. 2. Has this place turned into the gimp’s blog? I’m glad that I’m not a crippled old fart like some of the unfortunate people around Phil’s place! I still have years (weeks, days?) as a young, good-looking stud ahead of me.

  6. A prayer that God will shower His love, comfort, peace, and healing on everyone in this merry band of scallywags that is in need of His healing grace.

    • Judy said it better than I can, so ditto Judy.
Still it is important to actually say it. My families prayers for the Lords blessings on the above mentioned families.

  7. This morning I pray for Gods guidance for skilled surgical hands while she is in surgery as we speak or hopefully she is out. May God’s Healing Touch, Grace and Mercy be upon Igor and his family as they go thru this tribulation. If it be Your will for other outcomes may we all meet again in heaven. Thank You Lord for the shared concern here and Your Blessings upon all of us.

    • Dang it. Same for you as well Phil and whoever that third party is.
