A couple of fellows that read the Blog but would like to remain anonymous donated a brand new Variable Frequency Drive and a 220 volt motor, already wired up about six freaking months ago now so I could upgrade my machine.
It’s been driving me crazy ever since, wanting to get that done.
It’s killing me that I can’t thank these two publicly but I will adhere to their wishes.
They know who they are and they probably think I’m a lazy worthless sonofabitch for not getting this done sooner.
Couldn’t blame them for thinking it.
Anyways, I told the Wifely Unit last Thursday that pretty much everyone could fuck off this weekend, I wasn’t doing anything for anybody.
I have been going full blast 7 days a week for at least the last 2 months and I am tired of it.
I figured having a three day weekend might give me a fighting chance to jump on this project.
It’s not completely done but it’s together enough to show that it does work.
I still have to mount the VFD, tidy up the wiring, figure how I am going to permanently mount the motor and make some kind of cover over the pully on the jack shaft to keep the Safety Nazis off my ass but it does work and I am just THRILLED!
Thanks again guys, I didn’t forget you after all.
Soon I will actually be able to use this thing the way I have been wanting to since the day I drug it home.
I’m not jealous AT ALL! Nice work, Phil. Luckily my wifely unit wasn’t watching – I can just hear her now “look at the state of his nails!” She regularly complains that my nails, which are used for stripping wires and so on, are in better condition than hers.
Fantastic upgrade. Congrats and all props to the guys who gifted it to you.
Fantastic Phil and I thank those guys for my continued entertainment here at Bustedknuckles.
Thanks to the 2 Guys. Phil, you deserve a meaningful upgrade like this, and the time apart from the errands & BS to put it together and enjoy it. Sometimes the absolute right thing is to do something for you, and realize that that is OK and what we should be doing. This project fits – congrats on a job well done.
Good on ya, Phil – sometimes ya gotta tell everybody to just go p*** off to get some things done FOR YOURSELF!
