A Brand New Knot To Learn, The Very Handy “Bear’s Grip”

It’s not every day that someone comes up with a new knot to use.

This is a very clever one though.

For some reason embedding it doesn’t work in the blog its self.

It shows up and plays perfectly in the draft version but won’t play on the blog its self so you will have to copy paste it.

It’s Youtube Short and apparently the WordPress platform doesn’t like those.

  1. Looks like I’ll have to dig out my “Ashley’s book of Knots” because that’s two or three sepret knots…or bends.

It’s a good idea, but probably not new.

  2. That’s a pretty cool knot, though there are probably a lot of readers who shake, jerk, and lose their load earlier than intended. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.(snicker)

Through good genetics I do not have this problem. 🙂

  3. That’s a nice one. I’ll have to add it to my references. Nice how tension holds it all together as long as it’s under load.

  4. Just a hunch , but it doesn’t look all that secure to me. Half twist and friction around figure eight not are the only thing holding it together.

  5. Haven’t looked at the video yet but thought I’d mention that i’m on my phone and opened the post in a new window to read the comments first. The embedded video appears in the new tab. Go figure.
