Yeah, in my case being 5 in the 70’s beat the hell out of now being in my 50’s in the 20’s. The 80’s were good too, and a bit of the 90’s. Then things started getting shitty. Slowly at first, and then with alarming rapidity. Now we are in a world of shit with no relief in sight. I guess the good news is that the older I get, the less I give a shit.
I was just getting my shit together in the late 70’s. 16 y/o in ’76. I loved the ’70’s and would gladly go back … only if I could remember half the stuff I know now.
Got out of the military in ’73. The rest of the 70’s were great! Well, my divorce in ’76 wasn’t so great. But then I met my red headed, wasp waisted, Slavic, viking wench and ’76 was great again! Still together.
