This is why we need more and more regulations, “safety” inspections, and permits and licenses and fees — to drive up the cost of small farming — until only corporate mega farms can afford all the lawyers and bribes (I meant campaign donations) necessary to operate.
If people could just, like, grow and raise food by themselves, how would the Epsteins and Finks and Singers and Gateses (had to have at least one in the list) control us so easily?
Talk of Real Humans aside, what about potatoes on that quarter acre? Are they under “vegetables”?

Nor does that picture/graphic talk about the outside inputs that system needs to make it work, like animal feed, compost, fertilizers, and above all WATER.
Be tough to get that production above the 46th parallel.
All I need to do to turn my 3 acres into a farm is cut 3 acres of mixed oak, pull the stumps and cover it with 2 feet of good soil instead of the 3 or 4 inches over the hardpan gravel. Discovered I need a post hole digger to even plant a damn tree or blueberry bush.
And find the older staple crops not affected by the new and improved fungus, blights and bugs.
And a job to pay for it all since I’ve had no luck since I got laid off last March.
