There is some serious carnage going on here, watch the Semi’s coming in at full speed.
When I saw the first link they were saying it was recent but when I did a little digging it seems it was from a couple years ago. Still, holy shitballs.
Makes me even gladder I decided to stay home today.
I had planned to make a trip to Ohio yesterday but canceled because of the winter storm we are getting. Little snow here in the mountains of WNC, but it is quite cool for this area. It’s 11 here at the moment and will go well into single digits tonight.
That looks like footage from the Dallas / Fort Worth area a few years ago.
We get one of these on I-80 usually once a year.
I got caught one year in ice fog; couldn’t see more than a couple hundred yards ahead and the truckers were flying by at 75 mph. Some of those guys need to be shot.
from what i undertand, this video isn’t far from what happened today there as well.
ice does its job.
that is from dallas, 2 years ago i believe…was a bad morning…way too many overpasses in the dfw area, they ice over no matter how much they sand them
In the 80s on I-15 near San Bernardino, CA, a commuter told how in the fog she listened to CB chatter. An accident was reported near where she thought she was. BAM! She bailed out and ran onto shoulder and just flipped as shit rained down like only SoCal traffic can do.
There was on today on the turnpike here in Ohio near Sandusky state route 250. 50ish vehicles. As of about and hour ago 3 confirmed dead. Has been closed for many many hours in both directions. Doubtful they will have it cleaned up by morning. Been bussing people to places to stay warm. You can go to fox8.com and check out the story.
double the weight for half the cars involved if they were ev’s and this would have been way worse and then exposed batteries catching on fire from getting wet and this would have been a huge bonfire that would still be burning
Judgiing from the spinning tires on the cars in the foreground, I would imagine it was black ice.
Lotsa fools on wheels. Sigh.
I have my family trained to SIT TIGHT and keep the steel cage around them, otherwise get AWAY from the highway ASAP if TSHTF.
Update from earlier comment. They just opened the Ohio turnpike back up a couple hours ago. 4 dead. Sad.
